Labor Cost Tracking for Service Businesses
Use the Labor Command Center to review recorded labor cost and current payroll context before a small issue becomes a payroll surprise. It is an office-facing management view, not a payroll action screen.
What the dashboard reviews
The Labor Command Center uses active-company records to show completed-shift wage cost, payroll due or estimated payroll, overtime exposure, average labor cost per hour, and applicable tips. It can also compare labor with manual revenue records when the company chooses to record revenue.
Actual labor uses completed, non-deleted shifts with effective hourly rates. Open shifts are not represented as completed actuals.
Recorded work and estimates stay distinct
Projected payroll combines recorded work with scheduled-assignment estimates. When scheduled assignments are unavailable, the product can use a transparent daily-hours fallback within the current payroll horizon.
These figures are management estimates. They do not approve, edit, pay, or recalculate payroll, and they are not a tax, benefits, insurance, or accounting calculation.
Revenue comparison requires company input
Labor percentage is meaningful only when revenue is present. Revenue is manually recorded by the company today, including daily, weekly, or job entries. Shift Pilot does not currently import revenue from CRM, accounting, Square, or payment-provider systems.
